Sewer and Drain Stoppage

If you are experiencing problems with individual drains in your home, for example a sink, toilet or tub drain, the problem is in your private plumbing, and you may need to contact a plumber.  If all of the drains in your home are clogged, either your sewer service line or the city main line may be blocked.  If this is the case, you should first contact Springdale Water Utilities at 479-751-5751.  We will dispatch someone to check the city main line to determine if the problem is in our system.

Do not flush any toilets and remember to turn off all automatic water-using devices such as washing machines or dishwashers until such time any blockage has been cleared and all drains are operating normally.  This will prevent additional water from backing up in your home or business if the sewer service line or the city main is stopped up.

How do I avoid a sewer stoppage?

To help avoid sewer stoppages, please DO NOT flush the following items down your toilet or drains:

GREASE, CONTRACEPTIVES, FEMININE HYGIENE PRODUCTS, BABY OR TOILET WIPES, ‘SWIFFER’ OR ANY CLEANING RAGS, CLOTHING, TOYS OR OTHER OBJECTS.

All of these may stop or damage the lift station pumps or other equipment.
